TTF Conference expecting a full house in Liverpool

Around 200 professionals from across the public and private sector have signed up to attend the Transport Technology Forum annual conference in Liverpool later this month.

The sell-out event, titled ‘We Can Work It Out’, concentrates on boosting collaboration between Government, Local Authorities and the private sector to use technology to tackle the transport challenges facing highway operators and their supply chain as we move towards Net Zero.

The Department for Transport’s Chief Technology Adviser, Sarah Sharples, and Chris Boardman, Interim Active Travel Commissioner at Active Travel England are keynote speakers at the event.  Minister of State for Transport Trudy Harrison has also been invited.

The HRS-sponsored conference starts with a visit to the Mersey Gateway crossing control centre on the afternoon of Tuesday 17 May, to see the successful road tolling operation. Visitors will not only get to see the Emovis technology involved in the free-flow crossing, but also how the organisation manages customer care. There will also be meetings of the TTF’s six Technical Working Groups, while ITS (UK) members can attend the Society’s Annual General Meeting.

Highlights of the main conference programme include about the launches of the DfT’s landmark Manual for Smart Streets and the new ITS Certificate from the Institute of Highway Engineers, details of UK Export Finance support and attendance by Crown Commercial Service, who will not only exhibit, but also support Local Authority delegates with one-to-one discussions about how to procure smarter, cleaner and safer transport technology products and services to help meet the CNZ challenges that Local Authorities face.

There are still opportunities for people to register their interest for a delegate place, should one become available here, where delegates can also sign up for the technical visit to the Mersey Gateway operation.
