Yorkshire Traffic Systems Group

The Yorkshire Traffic Systems Group has been formed to bring together UTMC professionals from across the Yorkshire region to share knowledge, experience and best practice.

About the Group

The Yorkshire Traffic Systems Group has been formed to bring together UTMC professionals from across the Yorkshire region to share knowledge, experience and best practice.

Intending to meet twice a year, the forum provides a collaborative environment where authorities can discuss emerging industry developments, review new technologies and innovations, and learn from each other’s experiences. It enables members to showcase trials and projects they are undertaking, identify opportunities for collaboration, and gain insights into approaches being adopted elsewhere in the region.

The forum also serves as a valuable platform for discussing common operational challenges, including traffic signal maintenance, asset management, telecommunications infrastructure, cyber security, UTMC systems, and wider IT-related issues. By sharing both successes and lessons learned, members can help improve efficiency, resilience and service delivery within their own organisations.

Ultimately, the forum aims to strengthen professional relationships across Yorkshire’s highway authorities, encourage innovation, and support the development of safe, reliable and effective traffic signal and intelligent transport systems for the benefit of all road users.
