Digital Traffic Regulation Orders (D-TRO) Webinar #2

Event Date: 10 June 2024

Digital Trafic Regulation Orders

In this free event, the Department for Transport provided a brief overview of the latest on the D-TRO project and an update on the policy and legislation. This was followed by an intro to the Data Specification (including the TRO Data Model, schema and the rules associated with the API services), what being involved in Beta Testing means and our programme of User Research.

New legislation in the form of the Automated Vehicles Act 2024 will make it a legal requirement for Traffic Regulation Authorities to publish their new traffic regulation orders (TROs) in a compliant digital format to the eventual centralised Digital Traffic Regulation Orders (D-TRO) service. Webinar attendees were able to find out about progress on the D-TRO Beta project and how they can participate in the project.

Attendees learned about the latest project timetable, the technical specification which will apply to all digital TROs and how to participate in the project from user research to actually sending digital TROs to the D-TRO service. There was also an opportunity to ask questions.
