LCRIG Innovation Festival 2023

The LCRIG Innovation Festival is an event where products, solutions, new innovations and techniques are displayed and demonstrated over a range of live demonstration sessions.

The event, which took place from 4-5 July 2023 at Newark Showground, showcased emerging technologies and maintenance solutions. 

The festival provided local authorities with a chance to find out about new innovations from the supply chain that will help to meet their current and future challenges and featured a conference programme, indoor and outdoor exhibition as well as live demonstrations.

Here are some of the headline figures from the event: 

  • Overall attendance – more than 600 attendees over the two days: up 25% on 2022
  • 230 public sector delegates in attendance
  • Representation from 80 different local highway authorities: up 33% on 2022
  • The event featured 10exhibitors – up 69% on 2022
  • Event programme featured discussion sessions
  • 17 live demonstrations outside the main hall, showing the latest innovations on offer.
  • 34 Qualifying Innovator submissions
  • 7 winning Qualifying Innovators
  • Collaborative Innovation Award winner

The event also saw live demonstrations from the TTF Connected Vehicles working group. Supported by the Department for Transport and Innovate UK, the demonstrations included relaying fixed and variable message signs into different vehicles, along with virtual signs, entry and exit from Clean Air Zones, moving cyclist and pedestrian warnings and a live demonstration of eCall.

Delegates also had the opportunity to hear from senior representatives at the Department for Transport (DfT) and Transport Technology Forum (TTF).
