A handful of places are still available for UK small and medium-sized enterprises looking to showcase their transport technology innovations on the global stage at this October’s ITS World Congress in Gangneung, South Korea.
The UK presence will once again form part of the UK-Europe Pavilion, delivered through a partnership between the United Kingdom Government, Transport for West Midlands and ERTICO – ITS Europe. The Pavilion will bring together innovative companies from across Europe, giving UK participants the opportunity to exhibit alongside leading organisations from across the continent while engaging with international visitors, policymakers and potential business partners.
Four organisations have already confirmed their participation on the UK section of the Pavilion – Zenzic, AGD, Podaris and Q-Free, who will be highlighted alongside a high-profile promotion of the 2027 ITS World Congress which will be held at Birmingham’s NEC.
Companies joining the Pavilion will receive branding on the stand and in promotional activity, opportunities to feature in social media and industry media interviews, the chance to host presentations on the stand, and invitations to networking events and receptions throughout the five-day Congress. They will also be able to meet delegates from around the world, build export opportunities and connect with industry experts attending one of intelligent transport’s flagship global events.
The Pavilion will also play an important role in promoting next year’s Congress in Birmingham, which returns the global event to the UK for the first time since London hosted it in 2006. Throughout the week, visitors to the stand will be encouraged to discover opportunities to exhibit, sponsor, speak at and attend Birmingham 2027, with the Congress team using Gangneung to build momentum towards the UK event.
The Local Council Roads Innovation Group (LCRIG) will be supporting UK presence in Korea and its Managing Director, Kerry Winstanley said: “The ITS World Congress provides an unrivalled opportunity for innovative UK businesses to put their solutions in front of a truly global audience. The UK Pavilion builds on a successful model used at previous ITS World and European Congresses, where participating SMEs have reported increased visibility, valuable new contacts and international business opportunities through exhibiting as part of a coordinated national presence.
This year’s ITS World Congress takes place in Gangneung, Korea from 19-23 October 2026. The 33rd ITS World Congress will then be held at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham from 25-29 October 2027, organised by ERTICO – ITS Europe and hosted by Transport for West Midlands with support from the Department for Transport.
